I Write the Songs The Whole World Doesn’t Sing

I have two hobbies. One of them is creating my own Marvel super heroes. I give them powers, abilities and stories. Although it sounds a little hippyish, I get lost in myself when I spend time doing that.

My other hobby is writing prose or songs. I say songs, I don’t currently write music so I only do the lyrics. I think they are good. But I am biased. So you could say that I write the songs the whole world doesn’t sing!

Having a good hobby is great for you. Make the time for one.

Anyway, here is a song I wrote not so long ago. With music it would obviously change slightly.

Memories

Everything’s gone from my life

Oh everything has gone

From the day it all went wrong

It left me with a void

That only filled my memories

Of your eyes, your touch, your hair

And your voice

And now I’m left to think

Of those what if’s

But even those no longer exist

As I slip further into your past

I’m fading into your regrettable past

Chorus

Now all I keep are memories

I keep them all inside of me

Your laugh, your walk

Your kisses

I wish I could make them all real again

and take away the pain

I wish I could erase these memories

I don’t want to think them again

Oh I wish I could erase the memories

So I don’t think of you again

But there you are today

Your smile filling me with regret

Memories telling me all over again

Of that fateful day we met

And the time we knew, we had fell in love

How can I ever forget?

Oh how can I ever forget?

 Chorus

Now all I keep are memories

I keep them all inside of me

Your laugh, your walk

Your kisses

I wish I could make them all real again

and take away the pain

I wish I could erase these memories

I don’t want to think them again

Oh I wish I could erase the memories

So I don’t think of you again

Maybe one day in time

You will fade into my past

And my mind wont recall

All the things we used to do and say

and hope

Oh fade into my past, so you’re not here at all

Because now you are not there

To break my fall

Because I’m not in your present

anymore

Chorus

Now all I keep are memories

I keep them all inside of me

Your laugh, your walk

Your kisses

I wish I could make them all real again

and take away the pain

I wish I could erase these memories

I don’t want to think them again

Oh I wish I could erase the memories

So I don’t think of you again
